Home yoga practice for beginners
Not everyone has time to get to a yoga class every week
Creating your own home yoga practice is an amazing way to give yourself a free resource to recharge, even if you only have a few minutes available to practice. You also don't need to go to a studio and sit through 90 minutes of sweating in class to reap the benefits of yoga.
A few simple restorative poses can make a huge difference in your day. I recommend the following 5 poses to unwind after a busy day:
Forward fold
Open twist
Half-sun salutation with shoulder stretch
Janusirsasana
Legs up the wall
Try out these simple stretches after a long day to loosen up muscles we use during our day jobs. I also love this combination first thing in the morning to get ready for the day. This week during my home practice, I'm listening to Phantogram, Tycho, Banks, M.I.A. and a few more artists.
